Roleplaying post - Star Wars - A New Age

therefore I journal, I vent
I need to save my roleplaying posts somewhere before I get home, and I thought here would be the best place. I'm playing Mara Jade in a Star Wars rp. Here it comes:

---------------------------------------------

It was early morning. The sun had barely risen over the horizon and Yavin IV was bathing in a soft, yellow light. The humidity of the world and the moist from the rain last night, had made a fog appear. It created a mysterious light over the planet. The ground seemed to be a place taken from another world, which was out of reach from all living things. Everything was covered with a thin layer of dew which would slowly dry up as the sun continued the journey over the sky.
The air was now fresh, in the early morning hours, but it would soon be the usual hot climate that existed on the planet. One could think that this time of day, would mean a mere silence, but that was wrong. It was in the early hours, even earlier than this, that the noise from the animals of Yavin IV started to increase again. The sounds of the jungle was never asleep, but its intensity was quite different. Now, the main sound was the screeches from various birds. This was their reign, while the animals of day and night was asleep, awaiting the sun to rise more, or set, when it was once again evening. One huge bird with large, red tail feathers cried out a sound of joy and lifted high up into the air. Circling the sky, he flew over the old temples and over-looked the early movements of the Jedi Academy.

The bird was not alone, awake at this hour, but was being watched from a window in one of the temple-buildings. High up, with a great view over the the temple-area, stood a middle-aged woman in a white morning-robe. It was not just the burning, red hair, that would have made people re-assemble her with the same bird that she was watching. It was also the pride in her stance and the stubbornly lifted head. The woman stood with her arms crossed over her chest and with a calm serenity resting over her whole appearance. The light from the rising sun, made her squint, and the wrinkles in the corners of her green eyes deepened. Stretching out with the Force she felt the people and different life-forms in the temple waking up and preparing to this new day. Even without the Force she could tell by the time of day, and out of old habit what the different people was up to at this time of day. In the kitchen it would be full speed, as the droids and occasional staff started to prepare this day’s breakfast. It was a lot of different dishes that had to be made, as there were a lot of different species attending the Academy. There were already a few people bustling over the ground to mind whatever they should be doing. The woman looked down and felt a slight tingle of joy of being so high up, looking down. It made her long for her days in space again, flying.

Turning around she walked over to the chair were her clothes were, it was time to get ready. As the headmistress of the Jedi Academy of Yavin IV, there were plenty of things to be done for Mara Jade-Skywalker. She had acquired the title after her husbands death. Luke Skywalker had founded the Jedi Academy and created a place for learning for young Jedi in the old buildings that were once the rebels hide-out during the fight towards the first death star. Oh, that seemed like such a long time ago. Mara had lived a completely different life then, as a part of the Empire and as the Emperor’s right hand.
But the temples were older. Before the rebels it had been the home to an ancient folk on the planet, long gone now. They had only left these great buildings behind, as a memory to the after-world. Now it was the teachers and pupils of the Academy’s turn to create their own memories and carve them into the old walls. Their own marks in this place of history.
Mara had done plenty herself in her life. She was quite satisfied here, guiding these young ones’ and being able to teach them new things. Occasionally though, it started to itch in her fingers to move, do something else, meet old friends. Too many of those were gone Leia, Han, Luke…. Mara paused while putting on her jacket, feeling the sorrow after Luke increase again. A soft, gentle push, nearly something similar to a hug or a kiss on a cheek, suddenly came upon her and a smile appeared on her lips.
Although Luke was gone in body, she knew that he was one with the Force and always close to her. Right after his leaving, his death, she remembered she had been so furious with him, for leaving her like that. It wasn’t fair! Eventually the anger had diminished, and the sorrow had taken its place. After that the memories had re-appeared and she could remember Luke with a sad happiness. Eventually she accepted what had happened and could start living again. It also felt good to know that he was watching out for her.

Walking down the stairs and into one of the elevators, she went down to the plane were the dining hall was. It was filled with pupils eating and chatting, before the lessons started. Some of the students had already attended the early morning lessons and was eating with an even greater appetite. Smiling and nodding towards teachers and students, Mara grabbed a fruit on her way through the dining hall and out into the fresh air. There was no time for breakfast right now, not that she was too fond of it anyway. She wanted to go out into the hangar first, she had felt an urge to go out to the Jade’s Sabre and do some work with it since last night. It needed a few fixes, but there had been no time. Now she had a few hours, before she had a lesson with some of the younger students.

Before entering the hangar she took a quick turn into the comm-central.
“Everything alright in here?” she said with a grin. “I hope you haven’t destroyed my ship while I’m busy doing other things, Jak.”
The comm-officer looked up at her sarcastic comment. He had done a small mistake a long time ago, while repairing a fault with the Sabre, and Mara would never drop it. “I’ve done all the damage that I could possible get up with. The Jade’s Sabre is now completely ruined, I can assure you.” He chuckled, “No, seriously, everything is good and quiet here. The only fun thing was that the food transport came in and brought my order with pieces to the droid I’m working on.” Jak sighed, “Apart from that, it is very calm for this time of the year.”
“Yes, it is,” Mara said and sat down in a chair. “but it is nice. I’m glad that the Jedi Academy is running so smoothly. Sure, there are troubles occasionally, but right now,” she shrugged, “it is all good.”

A beep interrupted their conversation and a light started blinking on the control panel. “It seems that a ship is coming in,” Jak said with a surprised tone, as there were no one that was expected now, and as they were in the middle of the term, it could be very rare with visitors.
“Yavin IV, come in, the Millenium Falcon requesting to land, “ the message was heard out of the speakers in the comm-central.
“Yavin IV here, permission granted. You can land on the south landing platform,” Jak replied to the message.
Mara rose her eyebrows, in an acted surprised look, as she recognised the voice. “It seems that the Sabre will have to wait. There are guests to attend.” Mara rose from the chair and walked outside to await the familiar ship.
